Drum Set Lessons

Our curriculum is based on the foundation of learning the skills of reading percussion music and the application of rudiments to the drum set.

All students receive hands-on instruction on the physical approach to the instrument with an ergonomic approach to playing the drums.  This includes how to properly hold the sticks, position the body at the drum set and maintain proper foot technique.  This training increases the students' ability to accomplish the most technical skills without putting undue stress on the muscles and joints.

Beginning/Intermediate drum set lessons are taught in a class setting of 8 students per class.  These classes are available to students beginning at age 8.  The classes are one-hour once a week.  These classes are offered Monday through Friday in the afternoon and early evening.

Advanced drum set students and adults are taught on a private, one-on-one basis.  Private lessons are 1/2 hour once a week.  Private drum set lessons require an audition to determine how the skill level and experience of the student relate to our curriculum.  These classes are offered Monday through Friday during the day and in the later part of the evening.
