On January 17th through the 20th the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) held their annual trade show in Anaheim, California. This is one of the largest trade shows in the country. Its purpose is for music storeowners to come to one place where ALL of the manufacturers in the music industry display ALL their instruments and/or services. This is where we storeowners decide what products we plan to sell in the coming year.

For a drum shop owner/drummer, this is like going to drum heaven. I got to see every drum set, percussion instrument, and accessories, available from every manufacturer in the world. We are even allowed to play these instruments if we are so inclined.

While there, I got to meet and hang out with some of the most legendary musicians in the world. They were there to check out the new equipment too, but mostly to help demonstrate/sell the products from the manufacturers they themselves play.

It’s also a chance to hear some great music. The manufacturers also go as far as hosting concerts in the evenings that act as a showcase for their products. These concerts include those legendary musicians I mentioned and therefore some of the best music one could ever hear.

I took my video camera again and captured a small sample of The NAMM Show to share will all my friends. Check out Part 1, then click on over to Part 2.  And check out these incredible concert and performance vids from the Sabian Live stage!  Enjoy!  And tell other about it so they can enjoy too.
